Day 108: You Say You’ve Let Go… But Have You?
This whole experience of getting a permanent spot for the motorhome has been filled with lessons.
And it’s not over.
One of the biggest themes that keeps showing up is:
Let go and trust the Universe.
The other day I went to see the person who’s been helping me with this to ask him about a worker.
As I stepped inside the gate and realized no one was there, my phone pinged.
Before I could even look at it, another worker walked up.
I asked him about the person I wanted to hire, and he said he was on site that day and he would go get him.
I looked down at the text that had just come in.
It was from the man I had come to ask for help.
He said the exact same person I was asking about was the best one for me to use.
That all happened within a minute.
It was so serendipitous I actually turned around to see if someone was watching.
I was going to see person #1 to ask about person #2.
And without seeing either of them, I had my answer in less than a minute.
And someone was already bringing person #2 to me.
That’s how easy things can be.
That’s how quickly answers can come when you let go.
I had texted person #1 3 or 4 days before that and hadn’t heard back.
And he texted me as I stepped foot through his gate.
This might seem like a small thing.
But for me, it gave me the answer I had been looking for to finalize something I’d been working through for two weeks.
I had several bids.
I wasn’t sure about a couple of the people.
I really wanted input from someone who knew them.
This is just a small example of how things can work when you are more in alignment.
You have a question.
You ask.
And the answer comes.
It may not come immediately.
But it will come exactly when it’s needed.
And when the timing is right.
You’ve probably heard the saying that God’s timing is not your timing.
The important thing is to be clear and aligned in what you want.
Then you let go.
Or, as the Unity church says, “this or something better.”
Because we can’t see the big picture.
So don’t get attached to one outcome when it could be something even better.
Again…
Let go.
Did I mention to let go?
Because that’s the part we struggle with the most.
Sometimes we even think we have…
but we haven’t.
This morning I read this from The Teachings of Abraham:
“It is not your job to make something happen—Universal Forces are in place for all of that. Your work is to simply determine what you want… If we were standing in your physical shoes, our attention would be upon bringing ourselves into alignment with the desires and preferences that we have launched—we would consciously feel our way into alignment.”
I made my decision.
Then I started thinking…
Should I do my own measurements?
Should I be there when he buys the materials?
And then I realized I could turn into an overbearing nightmare client very quickly.
So I reminded myself…
Let go.
But what if the wood isn’t the size I want, and when I come back, he’s already too far along?
Let go.
But what if…
Let go.
It’s not easy sometimes.
Especially when it’s something important to you.
It’s even harder when it’s life-changing.
And I know it’s not easy when you’re in a place where you’re not fully trusting yourself right now.
Just let go anyway.
Today’s Gentle Practice
Take a quiet moment today.
Think of something you’re trying to control.
Something you keep going back to in your mind.
Notice how it feels in your body.
Then gently ask yourself:
“What would it feel like to let this go, just a little?”
You don’t have to release it completely.
Just soften your grip.
Take a breath.
And see what shifts.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear where you’re practicing letting go right now.
With you,
Lynn
