Day 115: Your Body Already Knows When You’re Not Clear
This morning I looked down at my Fitbit, and my numbers had dropped.
My heart rate was lower.
My breathing was calmer.
Nothing had changed physically.
The only thing that had changed was that I had made a decision.
Our bodies are always responding to what’s going on in our minds.
Every thought.
Every bit of back and forth.
Every moment of indecision.
Because I’ve tracked my numbers for years, I know what’s normal for me.
And I can see very clearly when stress and lack of clarity start affecting everything.
Not just my thoughts, but my body.
Your emotions tell you when something is off.
They tell you when you’re clear and when you’re not.
They tell you when you’re moving toward what you want, or away from it.
And they do it in real time.
This awareness is clarity.
And when you finally decide, your body feels it.
There’s a shift.
A sense of safety.
Your system relaxes because it’s no longer trying to figure everything out.
All is well.
That change can happen in an instant.
Once I made my decision, I had more energy that day.
More focus.
I slept better that night.
My numbers improved.
My body was no longer on high alert.
It could go back to doing what it’s meant to do.
For me, this decision was about choosing a contractor.
But it wasn’t just one decision.
It was a hundred little ones tied to it.
Who do I trust? How much will it cost? How long will it take? What will it look like?
All of that was sitting in my mind… unresolved.
How could I relax when nothing felt settled?
Now I can.
Because I decided.
How many decisions are sitting unresolved in your life right now?
Small or big, all adding up.
All keeping your body on alert because your mind hasn’t reached clarity yet.
Today’s Gentle Practice
Take a quiet moment today.
Notice how your body feels.
Not your thoughts.
Your body.
Is there tension? Restlessness? That low-level feeling of stress?
Then gently ask yourself:
“Is there something I haven’t decided yet?”
Something you’ve been going back and forth on.
You don’t have to solve it all right now.
Just noticing it brings awareness.
Take a breath.
And see what becomes clearer.
Don’t overthink this.
What’s one decision you’ve been putting off?
Hit reply and tell me.
With you,
Lynn
