Day 123: When Life Shifts Because You Chose It
I woke up this morning thinking about the major shifts that are all about to converge in my life.
I’m having a milestone birthday tomorrow, and this is the time I reflect each year.
We have two options in life.
We either make things happen or allow things to happen to us.
One gives us all the power.
The other leaves us picking up the pieces and making something out of a decision someone else made for us. And sometimes the way things happen gives us a little bit of both.
These current changes are all changes that I have called in.
I don’t know that it’s a good thing that I’m doing them all at the same time.
I know it’s going to feel heavy for a while.
I also rest in the knowing that if this wasn’t how it was meant to play out, it wouldn’t be.
The Universe would find a way to delay or speed up one or more of these things.
There is pain and grieving in moving from one phase of our lives to another.
In a way, it’s a celebration of how great the last phase was and how much it meant to us.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not time to move on.
This is when we show what we’re made of and make the big choices.
This is where confidence, clarity, and standing in your own power come into play.
And on the other side is the realization of this particular dream.
The new beginnings.
The fun part.
The adventure.
Will there be bumps in the road?
Of course.
We are human, and part of the human experience is experiencing things wanted and unwanted so you can get clear on exactly what you do want.
That’s why there is so much variety available to us.
We discover the nuance by sampling the variety.
It helps us refine to what degree we enjoy certain things.
We have the option of dialing up or dialing back on any experience.
And what I’ve discovered is, we are never done with this process until our time as a human is over.
Right up until then, we will always be experiencing new things, dialing in our preferences.
Having new adventures, and sparking new desires that turn into new dreams, that become new stages of our lives.
Today’s Gentle Practice
Pause today and notice one area of your life that feels like it’s shifting.
Nothing overwhelming.
Just something you can quietly observe.
Take a breath and ask yourself: “Did I, in some way, call this into my life?”
Not from blame. From awareness.
Then gently ask: “What part of this am I being invited to step into?”
You don’t need the full answer.
Just notice what comes up.
If this resonates, you can reply and share what feels like it’s shifting for you right now. I read every message.
With you,
Lynn
