Day 133: Where Is the Majority of Your Energy Going?
The photo came through in a text and I stopped eating my lunch and ran out the door.
The final posts were going in for the pergola that will cover the motorhome and the palapa that will cover the outdoor living area.
Why was this such a big deal that I immediately ran over to see it for myself?
Because over the last few weeks, whenever I wasn’t on site, I would occasionally have these little thoughts creep in about what could go wrong that would be difficult to undo.
Having those final posts go in the wrong place had become one of those thoughts after something the contractor casually said earlier.
You know how somebody makes one comment and somehow your mind grabs onto it and won’t completely let it go?
That’s exactly what happened.
And knowing how the mind works, and understanding that every thought carries vibrational energy that influences the outcome, I was very aware of trying to stop those negative thoughts as quickly as they appeared.
And still, there I was running over in 95-degree heat to make sure everything was good.
It was.
And honestly, the whole thing became such a good reminder of how this works.
When you want something, you naturally give it your attention.
And how much attention you give it matters because your attention is your vibrational energy.
The more focused you are on something, the more that becomes the signal you are sending out into the Universe.
But when there is an aspect of what you want that you are worried about, resisting, or afraid of, you are also giving energy to that every time you focus on it.
So really, the question becomes: where is the majority of your energy going?
Toward what you want?
Or toward worrying about what you don’t want?
I started thinking about how interesting it would be if we could actually map our vibrational state the same way my Fitbit maps my heart rate throughout the day.
I can look at my heart rate graph and usually tell exactly what I was doing, thinking, or experiencing when it rises.
Imagine if we could watch our emotional scale the same way, seeing it rise and fall throughout the day based on our thoughts, focus, reactions, and emotional patterns.
Yesterday mine probably would have dipped a little when I started wondering whether the poles were even going to go in before I leave.
Then the text came through and I could almost feel the graph bouncing up and down as conflicting thoughts moved through my mind.
Then I arrived on site and still wasn’t completely sure until we measured the spacing between the poles.
And the moment I saw everything was correct, I could literally feel the shift happen inside me.
Relief.
My shoulders relaxed.
A little internal smile.
And honestly, a tiny internal high five that the positive momentum had not been overtaken by fear of something going wrong.
What’s funny is that the entire experience, from the text arriving to walking calmly back from the site, probably took less than five minutes.
And yet that kind of emotional and vibrational movement is happening inside all of us all day long.
Most of the time unconsciously.
It’s just what the mind does constantly when we’re not paying attention to where our thoughts are going.
And then we wonder why certain things feel delayed, difficult, or filled with unnecessary struggle on their way to us.
So often it’s because there are competing vibrations happening at the same time.
Part of us focused on the desire.
Part of us focused on the fear, doubt, resistance, or worst-case scenario.
The good news is that awareness changes everything.
The more conscious you become of where your thoughts are going and how they make you feel, the easier it becomes to redirect your energy before those lower vibrations gain momentum.
And over time, that awareness starts becoming second nature.
Today’s Gentle Practice
Pay attention today to one small thing you keep thinking about repeatedly.
Notice whether your thoughts around it feel mostly expansive or restrictive.
Mostly trusting or mostly worried.
Take a breath and gently ask yourself:
“Where is the majority of my energy going right now?”
Not from judgment, just awareness.
Because awareness is often the first step in shifting your vibration.
If this resonates, you can reply and share something you’ve noticed yourself focusing on lately. I read every message.
With you,
Lynn
