Day 203: You Do Know How to Do This
We can be in the middle of an active shift in our life, or the in-between, or be ready to cross The Truth Threshold, and we have questions.
We always have questions. we're looking for a just a little more clarity, or any clarity at all, depending on exactly where we are.
Questions can lead to more questions that lead to answers that make us feel like we have clarity.
But then those answers just give us a whole bunch new questions that make us feel like we still have no idea.
Where does this lead?
When does it end?
It leads everywhere we need to go.
And, for the most part, it doesn't end.
Curiosity creates those questions, and that's a good thing.
We really don't want that curiosity to go away.
What we want is to ask questions from a lighter, easier, more peaceful place.
There is a difference.
I can feel the shift in energy just typing those words.
Can you feel it?
There is a difference between desperately needing to know and being curious from a place of having what you need and asking what else is available to you.
One comes from a place of lack and the other comes from an abundance mindset.
When we're going through it, we are in one of 3 places.
We just started this path of being cracked open by something and we are in disbelief, denial, anger, fear, overwhelm.
We are already through it and now in the in-between wondering what just happened and where we go from here. How did this happen? Where did it just drop me off at? What happened to my old life? Who am I now? What am I supposed to do with what I'm feeling?
Or we've answered enough of those questions and figured out some stuff. And now we feel ready to cross The Truth Threshold and boldly or tentatively move into what comes next.
We go through this cycle many times in our lives.
And we all know people who never come out the other side of something that cracked them open.
They just don't have the tools or support or the will to really live, so they just stay frozen in time, and just exist.
Sometimes we move through these cycles so quickly, and others take what seems like forever to pass.
Think about when you have a near miss of a serious accident.
Your heart is pounding, you are in disbelief. Did that really happen? You are completely shaken up.
You feel the urge to call your loved ones. All of a sudden their importance becomes clearer.
You have a flash of how your life would have been over, or at least very different if it hadn't been a near miss.
Then in your mind, you quickly cycle through a lot of the same questions, but this time it's as possible scenarios that you are so grateful are not your reality.
You may find that the experience is so profound that it does shift your life.
In a moment you saw your future, or no future, and it was enough to make you take stock and make some changes.
You went through the 3 phases very quickly.
You saw what could happen.
You wanted to avoid it.
Didn't want to wallow in blame, shame, arguing with reality, and wanted to figure out quickly how to move through the in-between. You were seriously motivated.
You moved as quickly as you could assimilate things to The Truth Threshold where you were honest with yourself, saw a vision a future you chose to move toward and crossed the threshold.
A near miss gives us an expedited version of the entire cycle.
It's possible it could be so traumatic or enlightening, as in the case of a near-death experience, where people wake up from those and are a completely changed person, because of what they experienced.
I tell you this so you can see that somewhere in your life, it's very likely that you have moved through this process in some way before.
It may have been small compared to a major cracking open that changes your entire life.
But inside, somewhere you have some kind of frame of reference for this process.
And that can be of comfort.
You do know how to do this.
It allows you to breathe, slow it down, ask for help, look for tools or support, and lean into it as much as you can in any given moment.
There is something in process, something divine, reorganizing inside you whether you feel it or not.
It may look like you are sitting in the middle of confusion, a mess. It could feel like everything is imploding with no warning.
But I promise you, there is a force at work inside of you.
It's alive and it's reorganizing, recalibrating, empowering you, awakening the true version of you who's been waiting for permission to come forward.
You are not alone, and you don't have to do any of it by yourself.
Today's Gentle Practice
Think about one threshold you have already crossed in your life.
Ask yourself:
What did I learn then that can support me now?
You don't have to compare the situations.
Just let yourself remember that you have moved through uncertainty before.
Some part of you knows how to do this.
With you,
Lynn
