Day 206: The Day Followed My Frequency

July 25, 20264 min read

Yesterday I caught myself starting my day in a less than positive way and shared what that looked like.

Just shining a light on it while writing, and sitting with the questions it brought up for me that I shared with you, was enough of a catalyst to turn it around.

I'm a very low-key person, so I don't do bubbly or overly excited.

But the way my day went was a testament to not allowing that negativity to go any further than a snarky comment in my head.

First, my worker showed up 30 minutes early, which is a miracle. He lives an hour away, and if workers show up an hour late, it's considered on time here, where we're lucky if they show up on the day they say they're going to.

His wife is always with him. I find the family dynamics in this area very interesting. I'm now front and center watching families who work together and spend time together in such present and loving ways.

I've noticed it with workers where their children work with them too.

She helps him a little bit when needed. Mostly she sits on an upturned 5-gallon bucket under a tree in the corner.

Remember when I told you about another miracle, getting the chair out of the motorhome through my tiny door.

Well, that very comfy, leather rocker-recliner is outside now, in the living area, under roof.

She sat in it a few times, but mostly she sits out there watching, while her husband works in the sun, in 98-degree weather that feels like 109.

He got the job done in one day, another big surprise. And it was the biggest job I've had done so far.

We collaborated at several points because he had a different opinion that would have completely defeated the purpose of what I was having done.

If I was still in the mood I had started the day in, this whole thing would have become a contentious mess.

But it didn't. On every point we talked it through in a mix of Spanish/English/Google Translate. We did it calmly.

I didn't go into, "Here we go again, another worker not listening to what I say I wanted."

Tech issues I was having just disappeared. I was about to say miraculously, but I don't want you to get annoyed by me calling everything in my day a miracle.

And other assorted things went better than expected as well.

Some things that may have seriously frustrated me if I'd stayed in a negative mood barely registered.

Side note: actually, miracles don't have a size of difficulty, so all this little stuff that felt out of the ordinary, and went surprisingly well, does qualify as a miracle.

In my mind, I know for sure my day would have played out much differently if I hadn't consciously decided to turn it around.

Because if I hadn't, I would have been in a resistant place, looking for what was wrong, instead of see what was going right.

It's so important to remember that we are the captains of our fate.

We are creating our experiences consciously or unconsciously. There's just no way around it.

Our life experiences are a response to the vibration we have in that moment based on our thoughts.

When I started writing this year, I thought I would only be sharing spiritual principles that were coming up in my daily practice. If I went back and looked at the first few months, I'm pretty sure that's what it was.

But something shifted along the way, and not really consciously on purpose.

Something inside me wanted to share in a more practical way, by sharing how those principles translate into real life, my life.

I still struggle with many the concepts we've talked about in the first 205 days.

Some very little anymore, and some still pretty often. I can't say I've completely mastered any of them.

And that's life.

It's only about the journey. There is no destination.

My hope is that you see yourself in these snippets from my life, and that it makes it easier for you to notice where a small shift might be possible in your own life.

If it has, I'd love to hear from you.

I read every reply and each one makes my day.

Today's Gentle Practice

Think about one moment recently when your day could have gone in a completely different direction.

Ask yourself:

What changed when I changed the energy I was bringing to it?

You don't have to make every day perfect.

Just notice the places where a small shift in you changed the way the moment unfolded.

With you,

Lynn
