Day 233: Let the Universe Handle It
This morning I was listening to a short talk on Insight Timer about the need people have to know what's coming.
As I scanned my mind to see where I might have this need to know about the future and have it planned out, I realized something.
I schedule appointments to get things done, but I no longer seem to have a need to know what the future holds for me.
I'm not sure when or exactly how that happened, but it seems that I don't spend time needing to know my future.
Maybe it's because I do my best to fully embrace the concepts we discuss in my life.
I fully believe the Universe is constantly responding to the vibration my life is putting out.
Like one of those beacons that shares your location when you get lost in the wilderness.
It doesn't send out where you were yesterday or where you might be tomorrow.
It sends the signal from where you are now.
My beacon is connected to the Universe and it's delivering what is a match for where I am in that moment and what my thoughts are focused on.
The happier, more prosperous my thoughts are, the more happiness and prosperity will come back to me.
It's a simple system that doesn't require a lot from us except keeping our thoughts focused on what we want. We just need to stay connected to how we feel and our only job is to reach for better-feeling thoughts.
Unfortunately, when we're focused on trying to figure out the future now, we give rise to a lot of resistance. All those worst-case scenarios we cook up.
And most of the time, those scenarios aren't even information. They're fear trying to dress itself up as preparation.
The Universe can only respond to your vibration in this moment.
It can't go backward and respond to what you've already manifested or what you may or may not decide you really want at some point in the future.
It's all about right now.
It's about what you focus your thoughts on moving toward, accompanied by good feelings that make it feel even better to you.
And by doing that in my life, two days after I found out my cement guy had left town, a new guy was recommended to me who is a general contractor and will have his crew do it for half of what the other guy was charging.
I just watched and waited to see what would show up. I reached out to people for recommendations, which was me doing my part, and then I let it go.
Being able to let go like this is something I'm getting better at, but it's still something I'm working on.
All of these principles are like muscles we build. It takes practice.
We start with something small, and if we do it enough times, we have more confidence when the bigger issues come up.
And then one day, you notice how you handle something with ease and grace, and you realize you've surprised yourself.
In the past, you would have been micromanaging it to death, and now, you let the Universe handle it while you stay calm and unattached to a particular outcome.
That doesn't mean you don't care. It means you've learned that your job is not to control the whole future.
Your job is to stay aligned in this moment, take the step that is yours to take, and trust that what matches your energy will find its way to you.
Everything works for our good when we allow it.
Today's Gentle Practice
Think about one future outcome you've been trying to figure out too far ahead of time.
Ask yourself:
What signal am I sending from where I am right now?
You don't have to solve the whole future today.
Just bring your attention back to this moment.
Choose one better-feeling thought, take one aligned step if there is one to take, and let the Universe have room to answer.
With you,
Lynn
