Day 243: The Life That Keeps Whispering
Louise Hay's affirmation for today is, "It's my birthright to express myself creatively in ways that are deeply fulfilling to me. I have fun today!"
I love that because it feels light at first, playful.
But underneath is something much deeper.
It is my birthright to express myself creatively in ways that are deeply fulfilling to me.
Do we actually believe that?
I know I wasn't taught that my creativity mattered. Or that my joy mattered.
Were you taught that deep fulfillment was part of the reason we are here?
I was taught to be practical, responsible, useful, productive.
We learned to do the thing that made sense, like paying the bills.
And sometimes that life worked for a while.
The important thing back then was that it looked good from the outside.
But then, at some point, something starts whispering.
Wayne Dyer wrote about the imbalance between our dreams and our habits. He said it doesn't always show up as something obvious like heartburn, depression, illness, or anxiety.
More often, it feels like an unwelcome companion by your side, continually whispering that you are ignoring something.
That's such a good description.
Because sometimes the soul does not scream at first.
It whispers and gives little nudges.
It gives us that quiet feeling that something is off, even if we can't explain what it is.
The house, job, relationship all seems to be fine.
And yet some part of us knows we are not fully living the life we came here to live.
That's the imbalance speaking to us.
It's the space between the life our habits are maintaining and the life our soul keeps pointing toward.
And it can feel confusing because the longing may be hard to name.
There's no step-by-step plan telling us exactly what to do next.
It simply keeps reminding us that there is something more honest, more creative, more fulfilling, more alive, waiting for our attention.
I think this is where a lot of us get stuck.
We feel the whisper, but then immediately try to make it practical.
What would I do with that?
How would it work?
Is it too late?
Who am I to want that?
What if I fail?
What if I'm just being unrealistic?
And before the dream even has room to breathe, the mind has already built a case against it.
That is where Abraham's teaching comes in.
They say whether we worry or rejoice in our Virtual Reality, we set up a vibration that the Law of Attraction matches.
What they refer to as Virtual Reality is the daydreaming and imagining we do all day long without even being aware of it most of the time. We create a virtual reality there.
If I think about the life I want and immediately go into fear, doubt, worry, scarcity, and all the reasons it may not happen, that is the vibration I am sending out. That's the virtual reality I'm creating.
But, if I think about the life I want and let myself feel the joy of it, the creativity of it, the freedom of it, the satisfaction of it, that is a very different signal.
Same dream. Different vibration.
That matters because we can have a desire and still be mostly focused on the absence of it.
We can say we want more creative expression, but spend most of our energy thinking about why we don't have time, why nobody will care, why we're not good enough, why it's too late, or why it would never work.
Then we wonder why the dream feels far away.
But maybe the first step is not to figure out the whole thing.
Instead, honor the whisper and admit that something in us wants more.
And allow ourselves to create a life that feels like it actually belongs to us.
Louise Hay didn't say creativity is a luxury.
She said it is our birthright. A birthright is not something we have to earn or justify having.
Creative expression is how life moves through us.
It may be writing, painting, cooking, gardening, creating a business, solving a problem, telling stories, singing in the car, creating a new routine, or imagining a new version of your life.
Creativity is not only about making things. It's also about allowing something new to come through you.
The most creative thing we will ever do is create a life that actually reflects who we are becoming.
That requires us to listen and notice the whisper instead of pushing it down.
It requires us to stop treating our dreams like interruptions. And start regarding them as information and guidance.
They are showing us where our life and our reason for life may be out of balance.
We have to begin telling the truth, first to ourselves.
Something in me wants to be expressed, to have fun again.
Something in me wants to feel deeply fulfilled.
Something in me is tired of being practical at the expense of being alive.
That may be where the shift begins. And then we get to choose how we hold the dream.
Feel the possibility of it.
Let the thought of it lift us instead of scare us. Allow it to become a place of alignment.
The whisper is not there to torture us. It is there to guide us back into balance.
Back into the life that has been trying to get our attention.
Today is the day to stop dismissing it and let yourself have a little fun with the idea that your creative expression matters.
That your fulfillment matters.
That the dream you keep trying to talk yourself out of may be part of the reason you are here.
Today's Gentle Practice
Think about one dream, desire, or creative impulse that keeps quietly returning.
Ask yourself:
What if this longing is not a distraction, but guidance?
You don't have to know what to do with it yet.
Just notice how it feels when you stop arguing with it.
Let yourself enjoy the possibility for a moment.
That small feeling of joy may be the beginning of coming back into balance.
With you,
Lynn
