Day 92: Rebuilding Self-Trust, One Moment at a Time
After everything you’ve walked through, it’s natural to question yourself.
Not just what happened.
But how you saw it.
How you interpreted it.
How you moved through it.
And underneath all of that, there’s often a quieter question:
Can I trust myself?
That question can feel heavy.
Because it touches something deeper than the situation itself.
It touches your sense of safety within yourself.
And when that feels shaken, it can make everything feel uncertain.
But here’s something important to understand:
You didn’t lose your ability to trust yourself.
You were making decisions, seeing things, and responding from the level of awareness you had at the time.
From the information you believed was true.
From the version of you that existed then.
And now, something has changed.
You see more.
You feel more.
You notice things you didn’t notice before.
So, of course it feels different.
Self-trust doesn’t come from never misreading something.
It doesn’t come from always getting it right.
It comes from knowing that you can meet yourself honestly… in any moment.
That you can pause.
Notice what’s true for you now.
And choose from that place.
That’s a different kind of trust.
A steadier one.
A quieter one.
It’s not built on certainty.
It’s built on connection.
And that connection is something you can return to.
Again and again.
In small ways.
In everyday moments.
The way you check in with yourself before saying yes.
The way you notice when something feels off.
The way you give yourself space instead of rushing a decision.
These are all ways self-trust rebuilds.
Not all at once.
But consistently.
And gently.
You don’t have to prove anything to yourself.
You don’t have to get everything right.
You only need to keep returning to your own awareness.
That’s where your guidance is.
That’s where your steadiness is.
This is a message I wish someone had shared with me decades ago.
It may have lessened some of the pain and grief I went through during my dark night of the soul.
I couldn’t accept that I had misread a situation so deeply, and that it cost me.
My vision and my perception were core to who I was.
And at that time, I couldn’t forgive myself for not seeing it clearly.
It touched something deep inside of me.
And it brought me down.
So I’m going to say this again.
Self-trust doesn’t come from never misreading something.

Today’s Gentle Practice
Pause at some point today before making a small decision.
Nothing big.
Something simple.
Take a breath.
And ask yourself:
“What feels true for me right now?”
Notice the first quiet response.
Not the loudest one.
Not the most logical one.
Just the one that feels steady.
Let yourself follow that.
Even in something small.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear what self-trust feels like for you right now, even if it’s just beginning.
With you,
Lynn
