Day 96: Change the Algorithm of Your Life
This morning something reminded me of how I used to make a vision board around the holidays each year to prepare for the new year.
It was fun to capture what I wanted my life to look like by cutting out pictures and words from magazines and making a poster board.
I remember back in 2007 or 2008 doing a talk on Creating a Vision for Your Life at my Women’s Business Empowerment Summit that year and showing, side by side, my vision board and photos from the last year of my life.
They looked so similar.
Right down to the overall colors.
Part of me was surprised when I saw how similar they were.
But the bigger part of me understood that I am the co-creator of my life.
I’d already been creating my life that way for decades.
Whatever I focus on is what I’m going to get more of.
We all see this in action.
Now we call it the algorithm.
Our social media feeds shift and change as our focus changes.
It may change in a way that brings us joy and happiness, or it may reflect back our opinions on things that divide our world and cause pain.
It’s completely up to us.
We decide what we see.
Not just on our social media feeds.
Our minds work the same way.
We are part of the energetic fabric of the world, and we choose the frequency that we live at by the thoughts we continue to think and reinforce.
Don’t like what you’ve got in your life?
Change the algorithm.
Stop clicking on things you don’t want.
In life, that means changing the focus of your thoughts.
Change the input of information you take in, whether from media or from people who aren’t a good fit for where you want your life to go.
It’s the same as no longer clicking on things you don’t want to see in your feed.
Right now, you may feel like you are being emotionally manipulated by the algorithm.
The truth is, your mind is even more powerful than the algorithm.
And you can create what you truly desire by choosing it over the things you’ve been filling the feed of your mind with in the past.
Unfortunately, there is no Power Princess coming down from the sky with a wand to tap you with your self-led power.
You have to take control and claim it for yourself.
This can be the moment you do that.
This can be the catalyst for you saying, “You know what, I’m going to clean out my social media feeds and stop looking at things that aren’t getting me where I want to go or making me feel good.”
And then begin doing the same thing with your thoughts.
Think of your thoughts and your internal dialogue as your mind feed.
You can shift that as easily as you can your social media.
Your emotional set point changes based on the focus of your thoughts.
What you give your attention to most.
Once you are in alignment with your thoughts matching what you say you want, you are on your way.

Today’s Gentle Practice
Take a quiet moment today.
Notice what you’ve been “clicking on” in your mind.
The thoughts you return to.
The stories you repeat.
Ask yourself:
“Is this what I want more of?”
If it isn’t, gently shift your focus.
Not all at once.
Just enough to move in a better direction.
Stay there for a few breaths.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear what you’re ready to stop “clicking on” in your life.
With you,
Lynn
